Calligraphy for Feng ShuiThe Ba Gua

The Bagua map, sometimes referred to as a "treasure map", is used in Feng Shui as a guide to help you map the energies of your home, business or property.

The Bagua originates from the I Ching, or "Book of Changes", an ancient divination tool dating back thousands of years. The I Ching has been used as a tool for guidance to help people make important life decisions. Its wisdom states that when we are aligned with the balanced energy or Ch'i of the cosmos our lives flow more smoothly. There are sixty-four chapters in the I Ching, eight of which correspond to eight sections of the Bagua map. The three solid and broken lines next to each gua are called trigrams and are the building The Ba Guablocks of the 64 hexagrams in the I Ching. Teachings of ancient wisdom demonstrate a bio-mathematical link between the Bagua and human physiology. Interestingly, humans have 64 strands of DNA. This link encompasses all aspects of body, mind and spirit. You will notice that the outer squares on the Bagua map correspond to specific life "treasures" such as love, health, and wealth. The ninth square at the center has no associated description in the I Ching but is said to represent the mysterious source from which the other eight gua receive their essence.  When used consciously in your environment, the Bagua map taps you into the energy source of true harmony and guides you toward divine right action, creating joy while assisting you to be of greater service.

The Bagua is a whole and living being-

A gift of the cosmos!
